Counseling & Advising
Mission
The mission of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. College Preparatory High School Counseling Department is to provide a comprehensive and developmental counseling program that encompasses all facets of academic decision-making, personal/social development, and post-secondary planning. The role of the School Counselor is to support students in self-advocacy, self-awareness, encouraging ownership of their academic experience, and creating a concrete post-secondary plan. Our experienced professionals promote the emotional and intellectual growth and well-being of all students in a safe, open, and respectful environment. All King College Prep students will acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to become responsible citizens and lifelong learners in a global society.
